No Blood Today
Today was blood donation day in my town.
Unfortunately, I was a few days shy of being able to donate blood. Since I've not been back in the country for 6 months yet, I'm not allowed to donate until next month.
Disappointed, but a little relieved that I didn't have to have a needle stuck up my arm for 15 minutes!
So, I would like to encourage you to go and donate on my behalf this month, wherever you are. It doesn't take long and they'll give you a cup of tea and a biscuit!
You'll feel like a better person aftewards. Promise.

I know it's wrong but I can't bring myself to give blood. Maybe when I'm older and can handle the icky sucky feeling the needle causes as the blood drains out of your arm - leavnig you weak and dizzy and not in any way consoled by the TINY biscuit and luke warm tea served by the old nurse who only does blood donation rounds becuase she's part time and almost into retirement ! I find tea, biscuits and old women as nurses reminds me of 1950 !
What if they gave you a pudding, Kingsley? What would it take? A double-layered fudge cake? Perhaps a tray of brownies?
I agree. Needles - yeurgh.. Want a way to put me off? "needle stuck up my arm for 15 minutes" does it nicely. And you can't move much while it's in there, I presume.
