I bought a pair of these last year at the Apple Store, Soho.

They have served me well: keeping noisy children, airplane engines, and other commuters at bay. However, last week they started crackling in the left ear. It appeared that the cable had a problem near the jack.

I emailed customer support and received a response in just 11 minutes telling me to provide my name and address and they would send a new cable out to me. To be honest, I was not holding out much hope as I'm in the UK. Then today, 7 days after that email, I received a new cable in the post!

Very impressive customer service. Now I just have to figure out how to connect them without breaking the earpieces.

Gnome-terminal has been causing me grief since moving to Dapper. Moving through tabs is done with CTRL+Page Up or Page Down. However, when you reach the far left or far right you end up with the characters 5~ appearing on your screen. Even worse is when you are in vim when that is interpreted as switch the case of the next five characters.

This is an annoyance which has been bugging me, but only now was it annoying enough for me to go and hunt down the bug. The temporary solution: turn off your num lock key.
