New computers demand at least one game. Browsing the Apple Store on Friday, I walked away with a just released Star Wars Battlefront.

Battles are chosen from either era of the Star Wars universe: Empire vs Rebels, or Republic vs CIS (the droid army). You play a regular soldier: storm trooper, rebel sniper, driodeka, etc. Occasionally, you get to meet famous Sith or Jedi just before they show you the pointy end of their light sabers.

The aim is to capture command posts around the map. How you do this is up to you. If you want to be driving the Imperial AT-AT walkers to take out the shield generators on Hoth, you can. Maybe be a clone trooper as you follow Mace Windu into battle. You're not restricted to one type per battle as you can respawn as any of the available characters.

After completing the single player games, I sought out some online fun. Unfortunately, not many people seem to have this game yet. I have so far only found 2 people to participate in the "massive online battles" promised on the back of the box. Hopefully, as more people pick up the game we'll get more action!
