Netgear MA521 Wireless Card and SuSE 8.2

UPDATE: Using ndiswrapper

It's great being able to use your laptop anywhere (kitchen, bathroom, garden).

I bought a Netgear MA521, as unforutnately the MA401 has been discontinued.

The MA521 uses a Realtek 8180 chipset. If you search for 8180 you should find the linux drivers.

Sadly they do not provide all the source code, but instead a provide you with a object file. After a slight tweak to the source code they did provide, compilation proceeded okay.

The link LED keeps blinking, but other than that it works a treat!

I installed a Realtek 8180 wireless card in my lap top last week, it is paired with a Linksys router. It worked fine for a few days now the laptop won't even pick up the card when it inserted in to the laptop. Other types of PC cards still work adn this card still works in other laptops, any clues what's going on?

It may be possible that your kernel isn't loading the modules. What card are you using? What distro are you using?
